A video I made about the urban forest in Jackson and what it means to keep wooded areas, particular in the Pearl River watershed.

Thanks! My hope is that with the latest approach to flood control for the Pearl (comprehensive levees) we might be able to incorporate a greenway system like they have in Athens, GA. This would be inexpensive economic development that promotes outdoor activity, access to the river and even human-powered transportation in the Metro. Rails to Trails dollars could be used for part of it, ultimately connected Downtown through Belhaven, up the river to Ridgeland and via Ridgeland's paths to the Trace.

Very interesting and very well done. It reminds me that I need to take more time to explore the wooded areas around our city.
