LoungeList: Jackson's Local Social Network

A Bus Load of New Loungers Just Arrived!

I just accepted 47 new Loungers at once! Welcome to all of you; we've been testing the waters, and are still discovering toys in this sandbox. Have fun and don't hesitate to ask those already signed up, or the iTodd, if you need help. And remember, we're Lounging tonight at Pi(e) to celebrate our Lucky 13 Young Influentials and Jackson's brand spanking new social network. Enjoy. And invite your friends who like to play.

A short poem about a mother's love for her son...

A Night At the Torch

Life, Love, and Misery
What Mother Brought to Me
Strange twists called love
Twist neck, love and kill a dove

Bringing life is as simple as not killing
Love is a hard part not willing killing
For ever love reaches a pain touching death
Only your mother can take ones last breathe

Father yields his silver sword as if in charge
Teenagers know his respect is because he is large
Not for his sword yielding skill which has diminished
With years of larger and wine and spirit relinquished

Mother holds her power cause her sword is born in you
She needs not power or a weapon the monster is in you
She’s a monster, on the loose, capable of killing her young
No mater if they are intelligent or if they are dumb

Everyone says OPhELia is so sweet, so kind, self-effacing
In home’s cavern scream’s with a whip and is self-defacing
Belittling her sons and her husband to her son’s memory
Every piece of history he told, she said was a lying story

Imagine mother convincing youngest son to kill his father
Convoluted I held the 38 close to the heart of pater
Strange twists called love
Twist life, twist love, and kill a dove

Just invited another 62 people here from my Gmail contacts list, and I had pending invites to several dozen already. And there are 247 of us who can do this. It must be incredibly tempting to leave it invite-only for a while and see how much, and how fast, it can grow purely on word of mouth...
