LoungeList: Jackson's Local Social Network

Ok, I keep messing with the design and, probably, making it much worse. This is not my forté. Anybody have feedback? Is the home page out of control? Do you like it or hate it? Does it matter?

And if you've got an opinion on how the different elements are presented on the front page, let me know.

Oh...and thanks to those of you who have been putting your images into albums -- the more albums we get, the nice the presentation of those images will be on the front page, because I can switch it over to "albums view." Until we get more albums, though, I'll keep it on recent image, even if that occasionally results in like 10 photos of Clay's Chip's house on the front page. ;-)

Like the look and feel. I love the ning backbone and your beginning to do some really nice things with the css.

No worries. I think there is something wonky about some of the URLs that come through in e-mail, but www.loungelist.com should work 24/7.

Shaun: Interesting. Can you not just go to www.loungelist.com to sign in?

I like the design. So far I don't have any complaints. One thing I wish was different, although it is tolerable and actually could be overcome by some memorization exercise or the use of a bookmark, is that the web address to first log on could be easier to remember. Right now I am having to rely on starting to type "lounge" in my web browser and allowing my history to bring the actual address up. But with enough use I will memorize it.

The design looks great. Looks fun, not too somber.

I saw a funny article a few months ago about the font Trajan being wildly overused in the Movie industry. Ummm, link: Trajan is the Movie Font

So I use it every time I get a chance.

Checking over the Docs, it looks like that's how it's designed...you can delete your post and retype (or Copy, Delete, Paste, Edit then re-Add). Alternatively, the Forums do offer a 15-minute comment editing window. I'm going to lobby to have that added here, too!

OK...I just lied. I didn't get the 15-minute window. Hmmm. I thought I'd seen that somewhere.

Do you have the ability to delete your own comments? I see a "X" out by my comments that would enable me to delete and rework.

From what I've seen you get a 15 minute window to edit comments...but I have a "admin" account. Is that not true for your account? I think it makes sense to limit the length of time for editing (so that people can't say what they've written well after the fact) but it's curious if comment editing isn't enabled for you.

I love Chip's house pictures. My favorite thing on the site so far. ;-)
