About Me:: Today it hit me that I write.

I write to exist. I write for the little black girl in 1964 who fell inlove with the beautiful new girl with blue eyes and blond hair, when segregated schools were no more, but had to send love notes to the boy with curly hair because she was afraid to be different. I write for the young girl who got married, had kids, then went inside herself to escape her reality but didn't like the landscape so she left to bloom like spring roses. I write for the sensuals in women that keep me eternally captivated and word heavy. I write for the woman who let ugly things in the world lead her to do ugly things in the world, but goodness prevailed in the end. I write for the spirit child who dwells in the spirit woman, who sees good in everyone today, because on this day she is free, to BE. I write because I am a configuration of 3, black woman, lesbian and mother, never in any particular order. depends on the day, person or place.

But mostly I write because I am a child of God, worthy of love like any other child of God. worthy of forgiveness when I stumble, willing to love and be loved. I write because the dreamgiver spoke to me and I had to go out into the world to ease the burdens of others. Prayer gave direction, thought became a mission so now I write and I write and I write to live. at days end I write for the love of words across a page. its such a beaufiful thing.
