Hey, did you all know that McCoy Tyner wasn't on Giant Steps. Tommy Flanagan, Cedar Walton and Wynton Kelly were.

I'd gotten that CD early on when I first got into the Jazz, later on I just assumed that McCoy was on there.

Yep, alot of people think that. McCoy got more involved in the modal period not the "sheets of sound" period.
On the tune "Giant Steps" you hear Tommy Flanagan struggle a little bit. Trane had been shedding that song for weeks. He gave the music to Tommy only a few days before the session and didn't tell him how fast it was going to be. Ouch
