What's your favorite distance to race?

Well, at this point, I'm going to say I'm with you on the half-marathon distance. Especially now having done multiple halves and one full and training for another full....it's amazing to me that my body can do a full marathon, but it's so much more about just enduring to me, whereas I can both have more fun and push myself harder in a half. With anything longer than that, it simply can't be about worrying about my time; it's more a matter of just finishing. Which is fine, but not really enjoyable...it's just making myself keep going. The half is long enough to feel like I've accomplished something significant, but short enough that I can both really enjoy it and just have fun AND work on my speed (which is what I'm doing now--trying to get faster for my next half).

I only started running this August and have only run one 5k and one half. I LOVED running the half. I can't imagine ever trying a full marathon. I'm still quite slow - between 12 and 13 minute miles. I am just so amazed and grateful to be able to take this up at age 41. I love the endurance aspect of the half. I feel so accomplished.
