How long does it take to change your MIND- sacrifice or selfish?

This is a site for the enlightened, engaged minds that want to enjoy, selfishly, their lives. I'm with that and since I became a parent 22 yrs ago (see my picture; it's called great genes), I have truly learned to be selfish about the time I had for myself. Specifically the time I created for myself.

I hear the parents of past and present who have stated that they made sacrifices of self so that their child could have. That is great and has it's place, but in making these sacrifices will you throw it back in your child's face or will you be hurt when they don't return the expected gratitude and gratuities of the sacrifice?

I learned from observation of my mom, how you can let yourself go physically and mentally for your children. I chose not to do that. I make purchases for myself and OPENLY bring them home- to hear, "Did you BUY ME something?" I look at my 2 daughters, lovingly state this unwavering claim to my fame, "I have been a darn good mom this week!"
