Okay, we hear it all the time in the beauty shops, barber shops, doctors office and even your momma's house, everyone it appears has their own reasons why they want "Obama" to be President. Ms.E would like to know why you want "Obama" to be President of the United States of America.

I want Obama to be president because I believe that it is time for a change in this country...a drastic one. One that only electing a minority can accomplish. I know he has great ideas about what he will and can do for the country and it's citizens, but quite frankly the opportunity for this nation to proove that it is fair and just is more than reason enough for me.

Besides his opponent is (in my humble opinion) representative of a republican idea that has put this country in the ridiculous state that it is in thus far. The best way to fix it is to come out of that party all together and get a sensible democrat in office. I'd be for Hilary too, if it came down to her and McCain. Although, I didn't and still don't believe she was a better fit for the presidential office. McCain represents that which is old and needs to be rejuvenated however, he is unwilling to waiver on his opinions and his ideas, which to me makes him a less appropriate choice.

I know you were looking for people who have based their opinions on the war, the economy, healthcare...all those things....yep, they are detrimental. However simply put, electing this black man would mean that America is no longer bound by it's prejudice past and that we are ready to fight for this country that belongs to all of us, not just rich, powerful, republican, white men. If we can get a black man elected here, in this country, we are well on our way to being a powerful, sound, fair nation that belongs to all of us.

OBAMA 2008.
No, I was looking for folks just like yourself. I wanted to hear your opinion, if you ever get a chance to listen to my shows, past or present , (www.blogtalkradio.com/voicesofthepeople) you wouldn't have prejudged what I was interesting in. I value your opinion. I believe in the freedom to express ones self. Thanks Queen, much respect.
Peace

First of all I have a different take on this. Barack is very smart and clever. But I choose him for president because he studied Constituional Law for 10 yrs and that what is missing is that kind of
president who is just not all the way into the political side. I fill that the only way to get away from what we have, even though we are already on the One world order, is to Change how we do things in the World. We have been robbed by our own Goverment and I pray we can get some change.
Calvin Mann
Another good point Calvin. I'm glad you posted that. Thanks.
As an independent, I'm voting for Obama because of his populist views and his ability to effect change at the grassroots level. He also doesn't seem as partisan as the other Republican or Democratic candidates that we had to choose from during the primaries. I love how he aroused the minds of apathetic youth to get involved in the political process. Most of all, he's an example of what could happen if you dare to dream and consciously choose not to be a statistic.
The Republican Agenda, "Trickle Down", "war before reason" - all of it, has failed miserably. They've eroded our freedoms and our dignity.
I want Obama to become president because he has a vision for change that will better MY standing. Obama seems okay with having 'people like me' as a Citizen of the United States. McCain and especially Palin would like to see me made "Illegal." I am a Pagan (non-christian). I like that Obama was involved with Constitutional Law (though I'd like to have a personal conversation with him about it.).
I don't like Republicans and not much fonder of Democrats. The two parties are so entrenched in our government that they have locked out any other form of thought. Both parties need to be dissolved. I'd like to see the "Salary for Life" of elected officials done away with, I'd like to see the "one term, healthcare for life" done away with. Put elected officials on OUR retirement plan - then they'd take better care of it. (and it would decrease our national expenditure by millions per year)
I want to see Obama as president because I believe he will take some steps in the right direction.

Also, if a Republican gets elected (or steals the election again) I have to leave the country due to mass stupidity.
1. I want the War in Iraq over, and I believe it will end faster if he is president.
2. I think he is very good about using resources to come up with the best solutions to a crisis, as evidenced by how he plans to handle this economic mess.
3. I would like for the United States to be more responsible in respecting our earth, and think he is in line with my goals on this issue. I also like his plan for providing more jobs in the process of reducing carbon emissions over the next 10 years.
4. I think he really cares about the people of this country.
5. He inspires me
6. I think we are undergoing a shift in our evolution in this world, and feel he is poised to guide us through it.
