This 74-minute film by Linda Hattendorf portrays the important friendship that developed between Hattendorf and Jimmy Mirikitani, a troubled elderly Japanese-American street artist in New York. As their friendship grew, Mirikitani was gradually able to confront painful memories of his life in interment camps during World War II and begin a healing process. The film has won over twenty awards, including Tribeca. Discussion will follow the film.
